My Journies

Good Work

“Surround yourself with positive people, and positive things will happen!” I don’t know if my high school football coach made this quote up himself, but it was one of the craziest statements that has followed me since he told it to me. It is really good to see some of my good friends putting in some work. The only person holding yourself back is yourself everyone.

Check out my good friend Jeremy Passion’s newest video. Everyone loves this guys videos and I think he took a 5 month break but hopefully you can grace us with more of your work. <3

This must be my lucky summer, because 3 of my DJ friends posted R&B mixes. FINALLY! You all should know that I LOVE R&B!

DJ Justyle

He started spinning for me at the Highlands. I didn’t know he had it in him but good work. Download his mix here: DJ Justyle’s R&B Mix

DJ Hostyle

Joe is a really good friend of mines, who lives in Northern California. This mix is cool and I am glad to see that he is not as lazy as his cousin. Download his mix here:

DJ Rayzaruckus

I couldn’t find another pic of Ray, but there he is on the left with his butt buddy DJ Rygar (he is a whole another story I would not like to get into right now) But anyways here is Ray on a regular night at Sabor. 10 years in the making, Ray’s first mix is really good. Too bad it is only 30 mins long, but you can see that the guy has talent, but I guess he couldn’t finish his mix because he is so busy either hitting the gym, playing basketball or fishing. Download his mix here:

Ja Tecson

This guy is practically family to me. Not many people have the balls to go against the grain and start something on their own. He followed in the footsteps of his dad (who would ever have guessed that lol) and is now one of the most talented young photographers out there right now. Only if he would switch from canon to Nikon will he harness his full potential. But he recently revamped his website and blog. Check out his work and you will quickly see what I am talking about.

Rodene

This is her picture on facebook =) But anyways Rodene is a very good photographer as well and has a really cool blog. Her mix of Photographic talent and querky comedy keep me tuned into her blog daily. Check it out here:

Rodene Ronquillo Here.

Keep up the good work guys! You keep me motivated!

Looking for Inspiration

By no means am I where I want to be in life. That is why I try to find certain things to motivate me at times. Today, I found 2 quotes that made me really put things into perspective.

When it all comes down to it, you have no one to blame but yourself. The decisions you choose are solely based on you! I can ask people what they think about something but when it comes down to it, it is my decision. I have no one to blame but myself.

Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.
-Michael Jordan

My biggest mistake is waiting on other people. I and only I have the responsibility to make things happen the way I want it to.

With that being said. Watch out world! Here I come!!

Ube Cupcake

If you guys follow me on yelp, you will know that I absolutely adore the Manila Machine (@manilamachine on twitter). Make sure you read my review I gave them on my Yelp as well.  For those of you who are not from LA, or who live under a rock, the Manila Machine is the first Filipino inspired food truck in the southern California Area owned by two really cool people, Marvin Gapultos of Burnt Lumpia and Nastassia Johnson of Let Me Eat Cake.

Anyways, I recently fell in love with Nastassia’s Ube Cupcake. OMG!  You need to try this. It is as if Rachel Ray and Jesus came together to colab on a recipe, and out came the Ube Cupcake, who they then gave the recipe to Nastassia. Anyways it is really good, and I will keep going to get them.

MMMMM Sarap! Try them and thank me later =)

You Tube Adventures

I usually sleep in the wee hours of the night because I am an insomniac. The old me used to waste my time on video games. Who am i kidding? I still waste my time on video games, but now i split that time with my other love. You tube videos! Try it! It is really fun. It has come to a point where I am huge fans of some of the people I watch, kinda stalkerish but who cares. I am a fan none the less. I posted early on some of the people I like listening to, but let me show you guys some of the sites I spend hours on every night.

Gabe Bondoc has a bunch of interesting stuff on his page form cover songs, guitar tutorials to originals.

Leejay is a beat boxer. Really cool guy. I got to meet him in San Francisco.

JR Aquino is a really talented singer!

You all should know this, but if you don’t, I am a huge Kina Grannis fan. =) I <3 her!

I have the opportunity to actually work with Jeremy Passion. He is genuinely one of the coolest people I have ever met and he is ridiculously talented. Hopefully he picks more dates to go on tour with us so you all can see for yourself live and in the flesh.

I used to work with Arika back in the day. I love watching her videos. She doesn’t sing or dance, but she will teach you how she puts on her make-up =) Arika is super cool!

And then there are videos that I can’t stop watching. This video is probably my favorite of all time. It is so stupid but I think it is so funny.

San Francisco

The Bay area is such a nice place to visit. I had the opportunity to come out here with one of my best friend, Jo Koy as he sold out all his shows at the Cobb’s Comedy Club. The time spent here has made me realize a lot of things in my life. Surrounding myself with good positive people is always motivating and made me see different things I will change in my own life. This is only the first step to a bigger and brighter future.

Thank you San Francisco for helping me understand the steps I have to take to get where I will be in the near future.

Meetings

We need to change, and trust me, change is coming.

Here are some of my favorite people and ladies, they are very single!!

Lovable to all, even animals, Rishi Muhamed Patel lives in the rough city of Buena Park. Feel free to hit him up ladies at rishi@usualsuspectsla.com.

Alan Johnson is one half of the rap group Deux Process. He lives in Eagle Rock. Loves long walks on the beach and candle light dinners. He is a sucker for romantic movies and his favorite date would be making dinner for his special someone and watching his favorite movie “The Notebook” while snuggling in front of an open fire. You can hit him up at chief@greyone.com

Joseph Indo Sahabu is an amature dare devil. In his spare times he likes to defy the odds. Here is a pic of him skydiving into J Lounge. If you were there that night you witnessed him jump from a plane int o the J Lounge parking lot. You can hit him up on indo@muse.la

Jet Lag

The first couple of days back from the Philippines was great, but jet lag has really caught up to me. Sleeping late afternoon then waking up at 11pm only to go back to sleep at 6am. This really does suck.

So what am I doing while I am up? I do what any normal person does, I shop online =). Check out what came in last night:

By far my favorite Eddie Murphy movie, and on Blu Ray.. I just had to get it.

I am joined a fantasy baseball league. My team name is the Pirates and this is my avatar, after one of the greatest movies I have ever watched.

I strongly recommend this movie. In Blu Ray the characters come to life. A must have and it is a perfect way to express my team play in my fantasy baseball league. GO PIRATES!

Please email me suggestions on what else I can do while I am up. COD and shopping is all I am really doing right now.

On another thought. Who watched the fight on Saturday?
I am a huge Shane Mosely fan and he almost downed Mayweather in the second round. Why he stopped punching him and started to hold him is shocking to me? Usually when a fighter smells blood, they go for the kill, as Mosely has done his whole career. Him holding when Mayweather was obviously in trouble is so uncharacteristic of how he has fought in the past. Michael Marley of Examiner.com had a chance to get a quote from Manny Pacquiao as he said, “I saw that, I did,” Pacquiao said. “If I can hit Mayweather like that, I will finish him off. I would continue the attack in a way that Mosley did not. I will attack until Mayweather is gone.”

I really do wish this fight goes on. It is a must for the sport and it will be a great fight.

Almost going home

Check out the backyard of my hotel; Mariott Cebu:

This place is pretty damn amazing. Experiencing the area where my parent grew up is a very humbling experience. The provinces take some getting used to but seeing my cousins is really fun. The city is an experience in itself. The food here is delicious. Grilled everything! That is the way to go here. I really want to make an effort to come to the Philippines a lot more in the future.

I will be going back home soon. April 27th I land in San Francisco and on the 28th I will be back home in lovely Los Angeles, so get ready. I am rejuvenated  and motivated to get things done. My time here has given me a chance into putting a lot of things into perspective.

THERE IS A PLAN!
